FIDELIUM / HOW IT WORKS
How it works.
You upload one old photo. Fidelium finds every face, you decide what happens to each one, and one to two minutes later you have the restored photo — with a written record of what was kept, rebuilt or preserved.
- Upload a scan or a phone photo of the print. JPG, PNG or TIFF. Not sure how to photograph it? See how to scan old photos.
- Every face is found and labelled. Clear faces can be kept as they are. Damaged faces can be rebuilt. Faces too small for an honest rebuild are preserved as the photo shows them, and people out of focus in the background stay soft.
- Choose, face by face. Rebuild a face from the photo itself — or add 3–8 other photos of that person, from any decade, with their age in this photo. More about rebuilding from your photos.
- Pick the options you need. Restore faded colours, remove all scratches (long scratches and creases), find pets, or an extra-large file for big prints.
- Restore. Usually one to two minutes. Every rebuilt face is checked automatically against your original; a run that fails the check is redone and never charged.
- Look at every face. Compare before and after face by face, run any face again, mix the best runs, or keep the original face — keeping the original is free.
- Download. Up to 24 megapixels, prints to about 50 × 34 cm, with the restoration record.
What Fidelium never does
- Rebuild a face from a stranger’s. Every rebuild starts from that same person’s own face and is checked against your photo.
- Sell invention as restoration. Anything rebuilt or filled in is labelled.
- Colour a black-and-white photo. It stays black-and-white.
- Charge for a run that our own check rejected.
- Use your photos to train AI.
